The systematic literature review of graduate theses on science laboratory

The aim of this study is to examine the science laboratory theses conducted in the field of education and training in Turkey and to determine what kind of a trend these theses show. For this purpose, 141 graduate theses, which were reached as a result of scanning from YÖKTEZ database, were examined. The theses were examined in terms of year, research level, place of publication, area, sample level, sample size, sampling method, method, teaching methods and techniques, measurement tools and data analysis techniques using the "Thesis Review Form". Obtained data were interpreted based on frequency, tables and graphs were created. In order to ensure the validity of the research, the accuracy of the research results was checked with the opinion of an expert lecturer. In this way, the content validity of the research was ensured. In order to determine the reliability, the formula reliability=(number of studies agreed/total number of studies)×100 was calculated. The agreement among researchers was calculated as 87%. As a result, it was seen that the theses on the subject of science laboratory in the field of education increased after 2005, and most of them were master's theses. Most theses were done at Gazi University. Thesis studies conducted on university students as a teaching level and carried out in quantitative design are more. The sample size of the examined graduate theses ranged from 51 to 100 at most, and random sampling technique was used. T-test has been the most used technique in data analysis. As a field, the most research was done in the science laboratory course and the argumentation-based science learning approach was used. Achievement, scientific process skills and attitude scales were used as data collection tools in the graduate theses examined. Based on these results, recommendations were made.
