Abstract (EN)

In this study, phenacylmethacrylate (PAMA) monomer was synthesized from phenacylbromide and sodiummethacrylate in acetonitrile solvent at 70°C in the presence of triethylbenzylamonium chloride as catalyst. The structure of monomer was characterized by FT-IR, *H-NMR and 13C-NMR techniques. The synthesis of homopolymer of phenacylmethacrylate was carried out in 1,4-dioxane solvent under argon atmosphere at 70°C using 1 % AIBN as an anitiator. The activation energy of the polymerization was found to be 68.09 kj/mol. Copolymers having various phenacylmethacrylate-glycidyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile and N-vinylpyrrolidone contents were prepared in 1,4-dioxane solvent using 1 % AIBN as initiator at 70°C with the conversions below of 15 %. The copolymer compositions were determined by !H-NMR spectra and elemental analysis. Reactivity ratios were calculated both Fineman-Ross and Kelen-Tüdös methods. The FT-IR, 1H- NMR and 13C-NMR spectra of the copolymers are discussed. The glass transition temperatures of the polymers have been obtained by DSC. Thermal stabilites of the polymers were studied by TGA. The moleculer weights of the copolymer were obtained by GPC measurements. The solubility parameters and densities of the polymers were determined by titration and picnometric methods. Inherent viscosity of polymers were obtained by viscosimetric measurements.Key Word : Phenacylmethacrylate, Copolymer, Reactivity Ratios, Solubility Parameters, Moleculer Weight, Thermal Analysis.
