SUMMARYSYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NOVEL PHENOXY SUBSTITUTED PHTHALOCYANINESA new mono substituted phthalonitrile derivative 2,2'-{benzene-1,2diylbis [nitrilo(E)metylylidene]}fenoksi phthalonitrile (3) ve 2,2'-{benzene-1,2-diylbis[nitrilo(E) metylylidene]}bisfenoksi diphthalonitrile (4) was prepared by a nucleophilic displacement reaction of 4-nitrophthalonitrile with N,N'-Bis(salicylidene)-1,2phenylenediamine in dry DMF inthe presence af K2CO3 . The metallophthalocyanines Tetrakis-[2,2'-{benzene-1,2-diylbis[nitrilo(E)metylylidene}]fenol fenoksi phthalocyaninato zinc(II) (5), Tetrakis-[2,2'-{benzene-1,2-diylbis[nitrilo(E)metylylidene}]fenol fenoksi phthalocyaninato cobalt(II) (6) were prepared by the reaction of a dinitrile derivative 3 with Zn(CH3CO2)2.2H2O, Co(CH3CO2)2.4H2O in DMF. The new ball-type metallo bisphthalocyanines 2',10',16',24'-[Tetrakis-2,2'-{benzene-1,2-diylbis[nitrilo(E)metylylidene]}bisfenoksi phthalocyaninato]di zinc(II) (7), 2',10',16',24'-[Tetrakis-2,2'-{benzene-1,2-diylbis [nitrilo(E)metylylidene]} bisfenoksi phthalocyaninato]dicobalt(II) (8), 2',10',16',24'-[Tetrakis-2,2'-{benzene-1,2-diylbis [nitrilo(E)metylylidene]}bisfenoksi phthalocyaninato]lutetium(III) (9) and 2',10',16',24'-[Tetrakis-2,2'-{benzene-1,2-diylbis [nitrilo(E)metylylidene]}bisfenoksi phthalocyaninato] lanthanium(III) (10) were prepared by heating 4 with excess Zn(CH3CO2)2.2H2O, Co(CH3CO2)2.4H2O, Lu(CH3CO2)2.H2O, La(CH3CO2)2.H2O in a argon atmosphere in a tube.The structures of the newly synthesized compeunds have been confirmed and characterized by IR, UV/Vis and 1H-NMR spectroscopies and MALDİ-TOFF mass spectrometry.Key Works : Phthalocyanine, Cobalt, Zinc, Lutetium, Lantan
