In this work that is deal with one of the presentatives of XVII. centuryclassical Turkish literature Istanbullu Mehmed Aga, some opinions has beenput forward inconsistencies of knowledges in tezkires about the poet who use`Fevzû? as a pen name. Meanwhile it is checked knowledges that is given bytezkires if there is responses in Fevzi?s work. As a result it is appeared thattwo Fevzi who lived in XVII. century had been mixed becuse of similarity oftheir pen name. It is also understood knowledges that tezkires had beengiven about the other poet called Bosnalı Fevzi belongs to IstanbulluMehmed Aga on a large scale.İstanbullu Mehmed Aga who was born in 1638, has given his own birthdate in his divan. His death date is given as 1679 in Safayi and Belig?stezkires. Fevzi who has taken different state duties, has also joined militaryexpeditions. Fevzi who had required duty of clerk in his kaside that he wrotefor Fazıl Ahmed Paşa, was attain his desire according to tezkires. The poetwho joined Chehrin War (1679), after return of this war taught that his familiyhad dead because of plague. Fevzi?s death date is a year after this tragicevent. Fevzi who begun to look for spiritual peace after this tragic event, wentto Mecca and died there.Every century has its own poets who shows the general literaryinterpretation and esthetic sense. Fevzû, who is a representative of classicalTurkish litature reflects the general characteristics of XVII. century Turkishclassical literature in his poetries. He has wrote naziras to Naili and Vecdiand tahmises to Fehim, Nef?i and Shehri. Some features of Sebk-i Hindiliterary movement that is seemed effects in XVII. Century Turkish literatureattract attention in Fevzi?s poems. But these features are not enough todeclare him as a Sebk-i Hindi movement?s presentative.
