Abstract (EN)
In this study, we aimed to compare the mean thrombocyte volume, lipid profile and vitamin D levels in patients with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome and to investigate the relationship between these values and the quality of life, pain levels and activity of the disease. The patients who applied to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation polyclinic of Firat University Medical Faculty Hospital were divided into 3 groups. The first group composed the FMS (50), the second group MAS (50) and the third group healthy control group (50). We have reached the values of the patients who came to our polyclinic with chronic pain from their files. These values that asked routinely for last 3 months due to the fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome, are complete blood count, mean thrombocyte volume, RF, sedimentation, CRP, calcium, parathormone, vitamin D, TSH, sT3, sT4, preprandial blood glucose and the lipid parameters. Demographic characteristics of the patients, Fibromyalgia İmpact Questionnaire (FİQ) for the assessment of functional, emotional and generalhealth conditons of the patients, and the Pain VAS which shows pain values, are recorded. FİQ values and pain VAS values were higher in patients with fibromyalgia syndrome and myofascial pain syndrome than in control group. Mean thrombocyte volume was higher in the FMS group than in the other groups. There was no significant difference between the groups in the lipid profile. The value of Vitamine D was low in all three groups. In the FMS and MAS groups there were a negative correlations between "pain VAS value and D vitamine" and between "FİQ and D vitamine." As a result, it has been shown that the mean platelet volume is associated with atherosclerosis. It should be taken into account that the mean platelet volume may be an early indicator of atherosclerosis in FMS patients with high levels of pain and sedentary life, and these patients should also be monitored for cardiovascular risk. Regular exercises should be recommended for these patients. The ways of coping with pain and stress should be shown to the patients and they should be supported on this issue. Keywords: Fibromiyalgia syndrome, Miyofasial pain syndrome, Mean platelet Volume, Lipid profil, vitamin D.
