Abstract (EN)
Non-Alcoholic (NAFLD) is a disease seen in a wide clinical spectrum ranging from simple fatty liver to steatohepatitis and cirrhosis characterized by necroinflammation and fibrosis. NAFLD is the most common cause of liver disease worldwide and its prevalence is stated to be 20-40%. High body mass index is a very important risk factor for steatosis, suggesting that excessive calorie intake and obesity contribute to the development of NAFLD and NASH. Diet is an important factor in the development of NAFLD, and this relationship is complex and extends beyond total energy intake. In this study, it was examined whether the content, source and amount of foods preferred by individuals are factors in the development of NAFLD and NASH, which are rapidly increasing. In the investigation method, physical activity levels, food consumption records and frequencies, and eating habits were determined, anthropometric measurements were taken by the researcher and the relationship between these variables was investigated. In the study, a total of 70 people, including 34 NASH and 36 NAFLD patients, participated; The mean body mass index values of NAFLD patients (35.76±7.09) were found to be significantly higher than NASH patients (32.22±5.31) (p>0.05). Glycemic index (310.33±182.83) and vegetable protein intake (24.64±9.73) in patients diagnosed with NASH compared to patients diagnosed with NAFLD (glycemic index; 227.21±153.99 and vegetable protein; 19.10±7, 98) was found to be significantly higher than the patients (p<0.05). In addition, although the total carbohydrate and fructose intakes of NASH patients tended to be higher than those of individuals diagnosed with NAFLD, this difference was not found to be significant (p>0.05).
