Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the the importance of tv series and films on selection process of destiation by consideration of tourist?s views. It?s been thought that this study will contribute determining the appropriate strategies and using appropriate materials by knowing which factors influence consumers? destination choice. In addition, this study analiyses the affects of movie and tv tourism which is related to culture tourism that is one of form of the alternative tourism on tourist decision making.A survey form is used to gather data in line with the aims of the study to tourists involved. Survey consist of two categories. First category is about demographic characteristics of tourist. Second category comprises questions about views of tourists on destination and the affects of tv series and movies on tourists? destination choice.The target population of the studyis tourist who visited Sultanahmet, Topkapı Palace and Grand Bazaar in Istanbul in the period of June to September of 2011. In this study the 601 tourists are the sample population which is determined by random sampling method .According to the results of this research there are affects of tv series and movies on tourists? destination selection behaviours.
