Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, many industries face the problem that their exhaust gas contains too many particles. In order to reduce their emission rates, industries use particulate control devices, which are also called as filtration systems. During the filtration process, static electricity accumulates on the filtration materials of these systems. If this static electricity can not be removed from the systems, it will cause problems like explosion or burning of the complete systems. The aim of this study is to impart anti-static behaviour to the filtration materials manufactured from needle punched polyester nonwovens. With this aim, RF plasma treatments of different monomers and gases were applied to needle punched polyester nonwovens at different power levels with different durations. The recursor, flow rate and temperature were not sufficient to impart anti-static property to the filtration materials of polyester fibres.
