Financial data mining

Data mining is the process of bringing out appropriate information that is stored in huge databases. Data mining techniques are extensively used in many areas, including Finance, Marketing and Telecommunication.Data mining is widely used by in banking sector which is the core component of Finance Industry. Data mining techniques are being been successfully used to identify bank customers? profiles and segmentations by analyzing their credit card types and their ability to pay back their outstanding credit card or loan debts.In this thesis, I have used various data mining techniques to carry out costumer profiling and segmentation by using credit card and loan data that belongs to one individual bank?s database.To conclude, the process of data mining has been successfully applied to identifying costumer profiles and segmentations.Key Words: Data mining, customer segmentation, customer profiling.
