The relationship of marble formation and potential around Finike, Alacadag with geological and tectonic formation of the area and occupational health and safety problems in marble sector

Marble formations have very close relations with the geological and tectonic structure of the region. The rocks, which may be marble in general, are located in the carbonate rocks known as the Taurus Mountains (Beydagları). This thesis is located in the vicinity of Alacadag in the Finike region. The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between the geological and tectonic structure of the study area and the marble formation in the region. On the other hand, in addition to the previous thesis studies, it is aimed to examine the properties and production patterns of marble fields for open and underground operations. The aim of this course is to determine the suitable geological stratigraphic levels or formations of these marble deposits formed in carbonate rocks and their location. To make studies to make the applications used in the existing marble production methods more efficient and effective and to contribute to the local marble sector. The aim of this thesis is to determine how an economic production can be achieved without damaging the natural geological balance. On the other hand, problems related to existing occupational safety in marble quarries and marble processing factories in the region and making suggestions for the elimination of these problems are among the aims of this thesis.
