Abstract (EN)
In recent years, the body has been the subject of an increasing interest in social sciences. The body is not treated as an inert and passive object, as in both classical philosophy and classical sociology. Partly in the early twentieth century, markedly in nineteen fifties and ultimately after the eighties, the body has begun to be handled by sub-disciplines whose theoretical frameworks were established in social science. One of these sub-disciplines is body sociology. Body sociology, which is the young specialty of sociology, has become important with the increasing presence of the body in our daily lives. The body has been at the center of lifestyles with a range of practices, from fashion to diet, plastic surgery to cosmetic products, from public health to individual exercises, disease perception to ailments, old age to youth discourse. In fact, we can see the traces of increasing importance on the body health and beauty all over the public space, especially the new dwellings emerging with the housing sector. We can come across many corporate structures that promise to have a better appearance, such as beauty salons, hair transplantation centers, outdoor sports areas, fitness and aerobics salons, nutrition and dietetic centers. This particular attention to the body is closely related to the fall of the threshold of vulnerability of the self in modern society every passing day. So much so that the body is turning into an obsession in modern society. Therefore, the body becomes an operation object with each part. More precisely, the body is fragmented in accordance with factors that affect the body perception. This also have parallels with the increase in the symbolic value that the body has acquired in the consumption culture. An idealized beautiful, slim, fit and attractive body has also many side meanings, from personal dignity to the image of youth under the guarantee of a healthy body. The subject of the research is shaped within this framework. The research focuses on "who" are of the participants going to fitness salons and the judges coming between their bodies, "what" they said to them and their roles in the reasons of their bodybuilding. The research tries to understand the internal and external experiences of the participants, who want to build their bodies according to the ideal form they have designed in their emotion world, with a qualitative research model. Key Words : Selfness, Outer Body , Respesentation and Presentation , Inner Body , Self-Control, Body Perception.
