Abstract (EN)
Happiness is the good feelings that individuals have tried to achieve throughout history, while stress is the bad feelings that people have tried to stay away from. Positive and negative situations in our daily life create sources of stress and happiness for the individual. Individuals who want to have a healthy body are interested in fitness and sports. In our study, it was aimed to determine the stress and happiness levels of individuals who do fitness sports. The research was conducted on a total of 396 people, 236 men and 160 women, using simple random sampling method. Research data were collected using a personal information form, perceived stress scale and happiness scale online application (Google Questionnaire). The internal consistency coefficients were calculated using the data obtained from the measurement tools and the reliability of the research was examined. As a result of the extreme value analysis made on the data, the scores obtained from the questionnaire and statistical analyzes were applied. SPSS 24 package program was used in the analysis of the data. The analyzes were applied in such a way that the significance level of the research was 95% (p<0.05). Normality and homogeneity assumptions of the data were checked for statistical analysis. In the study, t-test was used to examine whether there was a difference between the two groups, ANOVA analysis was used for more than two groups, and Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to see the relationship between the variables. The variables of gender, marital status, education level in the perceived stress levels of the participants and the variables of gender, education level, age and fitness training duration in the happiness levels do not show statistically significant differences. The happiness level of the married participants was higher than the single ones, the perceived stress level increased as the age increased, the perceived stress level of the participants who did not do any fitness training was higher than the other situations, the perceived stress level of the participants who did fitness training for appearance/aesthetic purposes, and those who did fitness training for health purposes. It was concluded that the participants were higher than the participants and the participants who did fitness training for health purposes were happier. ABSTRACT TUTAR Muammer. Investigation of Stress and Happiness Levels of Individuals Playing Fitness Sports, Master Thesis, Ardahan, 2023. It was observed that the participants stressed before the fitness training. This situation reduces the happiness level of the participants who stress before the training. It was observed that participants who were happy after the training perceived less stress. According to the difficulty level of the training, the participants perceive more stress, but according to the difficulty level of the training, the participants without stress were found to be happier. Participants who see the improvement in the training are more happy, so the stress of the participants is reduced. As the stress levels of people who do fitness sports decrease, there is an increase in their happiness levels. As a result of the research, it can be said that individuals who do fitness and sports have a decreased sense of stress and an increased sense of happiness. It has been concluded that it provides positive feelings in every aspect of our fitness and sports life and reduces negative feelings. Keywords: Fitness, Sports, Stress, Happiness
