Abstract (EN)
All people with or without disabilities deserve to ''live better'' in cities which is planned and designed in accordance with contemporary conditions. Improving the life quality of disabled persons through accessibility is as important as to have equal vital rights with other individuals. Legal practices for disabled people in the world, have been specified by the United States (US) and European Union (EU) Member States under a single law with the priority of accessibility called as ''Universal Standards for Persons with Disabilities''. In this study, it is aimed to draw attention to Istanbul Avenue which is the most widely used by population of Düzce and where it has access to many points in terms of location, social and cultural aspects and to investigate the problems experienced by the physically disabled individuals during their use, to search the expectations of the disabled individuals and their use of this street. In accordance with the method of the study, a questionnaire was applied to 80 disabled individuals. On-site observations and measurements were made in accordance with to the survey results. The results were analyzed by Spss Statistics Version 25. In the result of this study; problematic points were identified for the use of disabled individuals and recommendations were presented.
