Abstract (EN)

Structural analogies with commercially established classes of pigments, backed up by fact that DPP (1,4-diketopyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole) is described as a highly insoluble, brilliant red crystalline compound, prompted an investigation of its performance as a pigment. In this study, fluorescent 3,6-diaryl-derivatives of 2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c] pyrrole-1,4-dions which have known industrially important red high performance pigments have been synthesized and their photophysical parameters have been investigated. Synthesized 2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dions derivatives are 3,6-diaril-2,5- dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (DPP-1), 3,6-bis(3-tolyl)-2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4- c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (DPP-2), 3,6-bis(4-methoxyphenyll)-2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole- 1,4-dione (DPP-3). The structural analysis of synthesized 2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole- 1,4-diones were carried out by using FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopic techniques. The photophysical parameters of the derivatives were determined by using UV-vis absorption and emission spectroscopy.
