Özet (EN)

Study area covers coastal belt extending the southern part of Gulf ofÇandarlı, Foça and Yeni Foça, northern part of zmir, Aegean region.Geologically, the Tertiary volcanic and quaternary alluvions are foundin the study area. Study area can be divided into two units: Slopp / hilly andcoastal belt in terms of geomorphological properties.In this area, Mediterranean climate prevails which is characterized dryand hot summers, mild and rainy winters. The mean yearly temperature isabout 16-17°C (Foça 16,7°C, Aliaga 16,5°C). The mean yearly rainfall is 518, 2mm in Foça.Study area stays in Mediterranean zonbiome. The climax plant cover ofthe area is composed of red pine (Pinus brutia) it is found as a small cluster. Amajorrity of the red pine is replaced by maquis and maquis replaced byqarriques communities in place where red pine forest has been destroyed anddegenerated.There are Brown and limeless Brown forest and colluvial soil appearsin study area.According to the land capability there aren?t classes of I., V., and VI. ,areas in study area. The land capability classes of II. , III., and IV., which aresuitable for cultivation extend along the coastal belt, while uncultivated landsare found on the hilly areas and near the coastal belt islands.Settlements which had been established during the historical time arefound along coastal belt. Presently summer houses and tourism establishmentsare being set up near the coastal areas.XXUsing of misuse of land is the main problem of the study area. It isnecessary maintain sustainable live, the study area can be replanned. In thiscase land capability classification and the public benefit can be taken intoconsideration.
