Project planning for photogrommatric mapping

In our country, there is a huge amount of demand to large-scale digital maps. In computer supported urban management, land use, utility planning as power supply, natural gas, water, sewer and telecommunication works, projects and applications of infra / super structural construction, cadastral mapping and in transportation area, digital mapping is essential. Today especially in metropolitan municipalities, the reliable updated standard data is a prerequisite in making correct residential decisions. The management of the developments and necessary adjustments on residential policies with the steady observations in rapid development environment will be possible thanks to digital mapping and urban information system. Digital mapping works should be based on a project in order to get fast, economic and precise results. By means of project management techniques and principles it is easier to make planning. In a project planning optimum solution methods should be investigated. Developments in electronics increased reliability of photogrammetric methods that it is most useful way of fast and economic mapping works. On my thesis, above mentioned project management approach applied to photogrammetric mapping works. It shows that in that case, controlling and observing the stages of the project easier and possible to get maximal benefit from available conditions. It is pointed out that, in order to provide project requirements a method planning should be done that taking into consideration cost, time, capacity and measuring precision. Some information has been explained about usage of CPM-PERT method on planning and controlling of mapping projects. On the following pages of the thesis, specification and material of planning has been studied.Later on some brief information has been given about technical steps of a mapping project such as preparing of flight plans, field works, scanning, photogrammetric triangulation. VllAs an application; a photogrammetric project area has been taken into account and following subjects has been studied: Contents of the tender document, specifications and methods of work, calculation of cost for each step of project for optimal realization of tender requirements.
