Abstract (EN)

Cancer is a global health problem, the second leading cause of death in the world after cardiovascular diseases, and is caused by genetic damage that affects cell growth and division regulation. Current treatment methods have various limitations, such as not being specific to cancer cells, having many negative side effects, and the emergence of drug resistance. Despite the difficulties that cancer brings and the limitations of existing treatment methods, photothermal therapy stands out as a promising option in the fight against cancer. Photothermal therapy is a cancer treatment method that aims to destroy cancer cells by using heat produced from light absorption. In this method, nanomaterials are used to increase the effectiveness of the treatment and enable combined treatments, such as synergistic approaches where photothermal therapy is combined with other treatment methods to achieve better therapeutic results. In this thesis study, LaFeO3, LaCoO3 and LaMnO3 perovskite nanoparticles and two-dimensional graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanomaterials were synthesised, and perovskite graphene composite nanostructures were created. The photothermal activities of these structures were investigated. In this direction, XRD, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, and photothermal efficiency measurements were carried out for the characterisation of the synthesised nanoparticles. This study aims to increase the therapeutic effectiveness of photothermal therapy by taking advantage of the unique properties of nanomaterials and to reveal the potential of these nanomaterials in advanced cancer treatment methods.
