Abstract (EN)

Considering the needs of today's world and the multitude of human population, the need for energy has increased. Rapidly developing industrialization and human needs have consumed raw materials and energy resources. Unconscious industrialization has led to damage in the atmosphere that is difficult or even impossible to repair. Especially non-renewable energy sources, which are fossil sources, have caused great damage to the environment. In this thesis, a guideline study was carried out to examine the performance parameters of a solar energy system (SES) based on the electrical energy data produced by the Solar Power Plant in Bayburt in 2020. The amount of energy produced by Bayburt SPP in 2020 is 12.1 GWh. Based on the monthly produced energy and the monthly average solar radiation value, the annual average performance ratio was calculated as 89.04%, the capacity factor was 18.3%, and the panel efficiency was 16.88%. The design of the active Bayburt SES was made in HelioScope program. As a result of the design made in HelioScope, the annual energy amount produced by the power plant was 11.03 GWh and the performance ratio was calculated as 86.3%. Since the design type, solar panel inclination angle and azimuth angle affect the efficiency of the system, different designs are made in the HelioScope program and the effects of the parameters affecting the performance of a SPP are examined. While the performance ratio value of the system with shadow effect was 62.7%, the performance value of the system improved using the optimizer was 75.8%.
