Abstract (EN)

Turbines that provide the efficient conversion in hydroelectrical power plants are one of the most significant components in terms of their complex structure and design. In this study, flow analysis and fluid dynamics calculations for Francis type turbine and its outlet pipe that has pre-determined basic parameters such as head and powere were performed. The main objective of the study was to determine the optimum blade angle and rotor blade number to obtain maksimum power from the turbine. In the study, considering the rotor wing angle as 17 (Model-1) and 20 (Model-2), the impacts of the alterations in the directed blade angle (between 12-48) on the characteristics of the turbine (velocity, pressure, efficiency, power etc.) were analysed. Apart from that, effects of the equivalent stresses while reaching the maximum power on the material durability were also inspected.
