Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the poems the German composer Franz Schubert uses in his lieds and his music. With a view to realizing this, I have tried to identify the general features of Schubert's lieds with the help of his lieds and several works on them. Franz Schubert composed 634 lieds and those he composed from the poems of famous German poets are considered valuable musical works. It iş ân interesting study since it shows how the German language, which is usually regarded as a rude language, unites with music in skillful hands and that timeless artistic works may be created. For this purpose, I first studied Schubert's life, his musicianship formation and lied form, why he gave such a big importance to lieds, whose poems he used and the role and importance of those poets in German literature. Next, I tried to understand and explain the composition style of Schubert by several examples. Schubert made elaborate use of Goethe's works, who has a significant place in German literature and gained his place in German music literature by leaving a unique lied style to his successors. Schubert gave a melody, rhythm, language and form integrity to German lied art from the choice of poems to piano accompaniment and the choice of appropriate sound grqup and became the greatest pioneer in this field.
