Abstract (EN)

Based on the basic hypothesis that the Attitudes Towards Sports of women academicians working in Elazig Firat University will be different in terms of various variables (age, marital status, faculty, title, income, actively doing sport status), the study included 343 of 620 women academicians working in Firat University. Data related to the research were obtained by using literature review and purpose-directed survey method. As a data collection tool; "Attitude Towards Sport Scale" which has 25 items and five likert type , developed by Şentürk (2014), a validity-reliability test were anlysed and a six item "Personal Information Form" which was created by researchers, was used together. In the attitude towards sport scale of female academicians, there were 25 items under 3 dimensions; 12 items in sports interest dimension, 7 items in living with sports dimension and 6 items in actively doing sports dimension. In the light of the answers of the participants, a reliability study was conducted firstly. In the reliability calculation stage, Cronbach-alpha internal consistency coefficient of finalized attitude scale was calculated by factor analysis. Since the reliability value of this study is 0.90, the reliability of the data is quite high. In the study, according to the results of the normality distribution test with percentage, frequency distribution tables; t-test for binary comparisons, one-way analysis of variance (Anova) for multiple groups, and TUKEY test for determination of differences between groups were used, generalizations were made in the light of the tables and the study recommendations were concluded. SPSS 22.00 statistical program was used to analyze the data and the results were considered significant at p <0.05 significance level. As a result; When the attitudes of female academicians at Firat University towards sports were investigated, the differences in age, marital status, title and active sports were considered statistically significant. In terms of income status variable, it was found that there was a difference in the sub-dimension of interest in sports and living with sports, but there was no difference in the active sport sub-dimension. It is seen that the attitudes of the female academicians who participated in the research towards sports increased as they do sports.
