Özet (EN)

Measurement of Natural Radioactivity Level from Çamlıhemşin to the upper Fırtına Valley This study has been made from the point at Çamlıhemşin to source of the river. Sediment, soil and water samplings have been made at 1 km intervals in the summer season of 2003. Samples of sediment and soil collected along the Fırtına Valley area have been analyzed for the primordial natural radionuclides 238U, 232Th, 40K and 137Cs. In the measurements high resolution Ge(Li) dedector was used. The activity concentrations obtained for 226Ra, 214Pb, 214Bi, 228Ac, 208T1, 40K, 137Cs are expressed in Bq kg'1. Gross- a and gross-? activities of water samples taken in Fırtına river were determined. Gross- or and gross-? activities concentrations ranging from 0.0124 to 0.0662 Bq l-1 and from 0.0279 to 0.1333 Bq l-1 were observed for water, respectively. In addition, the concentration of K, Pb, Ca, Mg, Zn, Cu, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cd in water samples have been analyzed by using the spectroquant. The results have been presented giving graphics and tabular forms. By this study, the level of natural radioactivity of the Fırtına river and its surroundings have been determined Key Words : Natural Radyoactivity, a -Activity, ?-Activity, Fırtına Valley VI
