Abstract (EN)

In this study, the outer green shell of pistachio obtained from Siirt province was selected as adsorbent material. It has been tried to be used in the removal of heavy metals from the aqueous solution with the activated carbon obtained from it. Activated carbons obtained from the outer green shell of peanuts by hydrochar, biochar, microwave methods were activated at different concentrations with NaOH, HCl and H3PO4. Activated samples obtained under optimum conditions were used to remove copper and cadmium from aqueous solutions at different temperatures (298K, 308K and 318K). In order to determine the optimum conditions, parameters such as pH, contact time, amount of adsorbent, initial concentration and temperature were investigated. Activated carbon samples with the highest surface area were used to remove copper and cadmium from the aqueous solution. After the adsorption studies, adsorption kinetics, thermodynamics and isotherms were examined and the results were evaluated. Optimization studies of the process variables for the activated carbon obtained within the scope of the thesis were performed and the characterizations of the samples obtained with BET, SEM, EDX, FTIR were examined
