Social life in Iraq in Fuâd et-Tekerlî's novels

In the land of Iraq, which has hosted many important figures in the field of science and literature throughout history, important figures have also grown in the last period of Arabic literature. Fuad et-Tekerli, one of the most important names of modern Iraqi literature, appears as an author of the maturation period of the Iraqi novel. The author, who deals with the realities of Iraq in his works, focuses on the important events that occurred in Iraq during this period. The subject of the study is to determine the social issues of the period in the Iraqi social life in Fuad et-Tekerlî's novels. In order to better understand the author's novels and novels, the development stages of the Iraqi novel and prominent personalities and their works in the development of this genre in Iraq are discussed in the introduction. In the first chapter, the life of the author was investigated according to the stages of childhood, youth and old age, and it was revealed what kind of social environment he grew up in, what professions he was in, and in which social conditions he lived. The second part is the main part of the study in which the Iraqi social life of the period is examined and determined in the novels. In this section, society, education, family institution, marriage, view of women, economic life, immigration phenomenon, corruption and abuse of power, space and culture-art elements identified in the author's novels are examined. The study was completed with the evaluations made and the conclusion part. As a result, in the study, on the basis of literature and sociology, findings about social issues in Fuad et-Tekerlî's novels are revealed.
