Assessment of the news about the violence in football in terms of the principles of journalism ethics: The content analysis of the news which took place in advocacy, popular and sports newspapers about violence in Galatasaray-Leeds United, Rome-Galatasaray and Turkey-Switzerland games

In this study, news about the violence in football was assessed through the principles of journalism ethics. Study is consisted of two parts which are theoretical and execution. In the theoretical part; terms of newspaper, journalist, journalism and news; historical development of journalism; concepts of ethics and morals; journalism ethics and approaches of journalism ethics; advocacy journalism, popular journalism, sports journalism; the definition and types of violence and aggression, the case of violence and aggression in football were studied in detail. In the execution part; a research was made on news about violence in football which took place in advocacy newspapers, popular newspapers and sports newspapers in order to make an assessment of the news through the principles of journalism ethics. In the research news about violence in Galatasaray-Leeds United, Rome-Galatasaray and Turkey-Switzerland games were studied in terms of journalism ethics. As a result of this study; it was determined that %19.2 of the news in advocacy newspapers, %30.4 of the news in popular newspapers and %33.4 of the news in sports newspapers violate the principles of journalism ethics.
