Effect of 8 weeks core training programme on physical and physiological parameters of male soccer players

Abstract (EN)

Aim of this study was to investigate effect of 8 weeks core training program on some physiologic and physical parameters of male university soccer players. Physical Education and Sport High School male students (n:44) who were between 18 and 30 years old participated in this study as voluntary. Volunteers were seperated two groups as ÇG (n:22), KG (n:22), ÇG was applied core strength training 8 weeks and 3 days per week additionally soccer training programme. KG wasn't applied core training during 8 weeks additionally soccer training programme. Body mass index (BKİ), back strength, leg strength, flexibility, vertical jump, body fat percentage, 20 m sprint and 20 m shuttle run tests were appilied on volunteers. Obtained data were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 program. Paired Samples T-Test was used for analysis of between the groups their own. Independent Sample Test was used for analysis of between groups. Significance was found in all parameters on ÇG p<0.05. Significance was found in BKİ, body weight, vertical jump, back and leg strength parameters on KG p<0.05. Significance was found favor of the ÇG, body weight, BKİ, flexibility, 20 m sprint and MaxVO2 between ÇG and KG p<0.05. As a result, it can be said that to be positive effects of core strength training on some physical and physiological parameters.
