Investigation of the relationship between musclin and insulin in football players

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relationship between insulin and musclin was investigated in football players who were given a 6-week camp time. The population of the study was composed of 17 male football players. The football players had football practice for 90 minutes five days a week during 6 weeks. Data were analyzed with the help of SPSS package program to compare the differences between dependent groups with the tests used to reveal the differences before and after the training. The suitability of the data to normal distribution was examined by Shapiro-Wilk test. Those who showed a normal distribution from the data were analyzed with the Dependent t-test and those who did not show a normal distribution with the Wilcoxon test. Statistical significance was accepted as P <0.05. It was found that football players had no effect on serum AST, ALT and glucose levels before and after the 6-week camp period (P> 0.05), but decreased urea and cholesterol levels (P <0.0001). On the other hand, it was determined that the same program caused an increase in serum creatinine and musclin levels (P <0.0001). There was no change in serum insulin level (P> 0.05). As a result, in this study, it was determined that the practice of training before and after the camp in the soccer players increases the musclin level and does not affect the insulin level. In the light of this information, there is a need for researches for different exercise methods and participants of other sports. Keywords: Football, Practice, Musclin, Insulin
