Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the social phobia levels of young people playing football. For this purpose, football players in the sports schools opened by the municipality of Elazığ created the universe of the study. A total of 412 athletes participated in the study voluntarily. For the purposes of the research, the two-dimensional "Liebowits social phobia' scale was used to determine the levels of social phobia by which athletes exhibited fear or avoidance behavior. The adaptation of the Liebowits social phobia scale to Turkey, validity and reliability study was conducted by, and the way it was used was taken advantage of (1). In the analysis and interpretation of the data, the frequency and percent; Kolmogorov-Simirnov test were used to determine the correlation coefficient of Spearman-correlation between Man-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H Test in normal distribution dimensions and Man-Whitney U and Man-Whitney H Test in non-normal distribution dimensions were used to determine the correlation coefficient of the Kolmogorov-Simirnov test. According to the results of the study, there was a significant difference in the extent of social phobia, fear and social avoidance of athletes compared to gender, parent education status, introversion and extroversion variables (p<0.05). Social phobia is a social anxiety disorder that is characterized by fear and avoidance of social situations.
