The effect of different field grounds on muscle damage in soccer

Özet (EN)

This study aims to inquire into the effect of different turf fields on muscle damage. This study was carried out with nineteen active male soccer players whose approximate age varies in 21.63±1.11 years, 179.26±5.78 cm in height, 73.73±9.14 kg in weight and 9.47±1.89 years in training. In the detection of the muscle damage; in which CK, LDH, AST and TnT were put into practice pre-training & post-training and 24 to 72 hours after the training, blood was drawn from the athletes eight times in total. The damage dependently resulted in by the training due to the ground was evaluated thanks to the exercises performed on both grass and artificial field. In regard to the measurements conducted, inasmuch as most of the data of normalcy tests did not present normal distribution in compliance with the Shapiro-Wilk test, Non-Parametric Friedman's test was implemented. There exist four levels of time and two levels of ground factor. Bonferroni Post-Hoc test was carried out to determine the differences in the levels of these factors. Wherefore, Non-Parametric 2 Independent Mann-Whitney (?) test was made for the comparison of blood samples taken at the same time in two different fields. The entire statistical calculations were carried off by SPSS 26 Software which was created for Windows. According to the data gathered, both on grass and artificial fields, it has been observed a significant difference in the time intervals on the levels of LDH, AST, CK and TnT inter se. When the fields were compared to one another in regard to their time intervals, a significant difference was seen in the values of LDH after 24 hours & pre-training TnT values and 72 hours after-training values; on the other time intervals, per contra, there has not been a significant difference observed. Consequently, soccer players have been experiencing muscle damage after training; however, the analyisis of data indicated that any meaningful differences in muscle damage do not exist between natural grass and sentetic grounds.
