Investigation of the logistics performance of G8 nations using the ARTASI method

The concept of logistics performance, which is an important indicator of competitiveness, has made it imperative for decision-makers to measure this area. Evaluating logistics activities with specific components enables countries to make improvements in areas where they have advantages and disadvantages. The Logistics Performance Index report published by the World Bank allows for the examination of countries current performance. Various methods are used to evaluate this performance. Multi-criteria decision-making methods also help decision-makers find the most appropriate solution to the problems they encounter. In this study, the logistics performance values G8 countries with important economic power were ranked using the ARTASI method. The component scores of the countries were determined using the World Bank's 2023 LPI report. Common weights were obtained by using the PSI, SD, SV, MEREC methods together. After ranking using the ARTASI method, the rankings were compared and examined using the ARAS, CoCoSo, COPRAS, MARA and MCRAT methods. Based on the results obtained using the ARTASI method, Germany was determined to be the country with the best logistics performance among the G8 countries. Additionally, 20 different weight scenarios were created using Monte Carlo Simulation in this study. This tested whether the ARTASI method is sensitive to changes in the criterion weights. The ARTASI method is a newly introduced MCDM method in the literature. For this reason it was preferred in this study. The PSI, SD, SV and MEREC methods used in weight determination, along with the ARTASI, CoCoSo, COPRAS, MARA and MCRAT methods used in the country ranking stage, have not been used together in any previous study. In this respect, the study is original and contributes to the literature.
