The effect of galanin and exercise on spatial memory performance in rats

Learning is a reflection of the experiences and attitudes to become permanent. Memory is the storage of all these learning process. Learning; the brain is a process carried out in cooperation of many departments, with many different methods. Brain records the memory with different moieties. The purpose of this study; supplied with exogenous galanin is to show the effects with exercise on memory and learning, to investigate the effects of galanin on memory and learning with exercise. In our study, 108 Wistar albino rats were used. Rats 12 'evil were divided into 9 groups, 5 Groups of 9 were taken to exercise for 6 weeks. Intraperitoneal and intracerebral ventricular galanin were injected the groups and salin were injected to the control groups. 6 weeks later, all rats received 4 days period training in morris water tank. At the end of the training 5. day rats tested in tank of learning and memory and camera recordings were made. Records statistical analysis was performed by transferring the computer program. Blood taken from rats before and after work was done by centrifuging blood elize and performed statistical analysis of the results. Blood results was performed by applying post - hoc test statistical analysis in SBSS programme. Based on the analysis we get the results of our study, compared to the control group of rats who exercise regularly it has shortened the time to find the platform and the ICV galanin in rats was found to be increased compared to the control group while finding the platform. We can say that regular exercise improves learning and memory in rats and reduce the ICV galanin reduce the learning and memory potential. It not found any effect on memory and learning, while IP given galanin. Regular exercise can't reduce the negative effects of galanin on learning and memory. Elize test has been shown to increase the blood levels of galanin in rats that exercise group. Based on these results, the positive effects of exercise on learning and memory is not depend on the galanin. Based on the results of our study, in living memory disorders and learning disorders such alzheimer, we believe the treatment could be supported.
