Abstract (EN)
Researches has shown that both Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) and Thermoluminescence tecniques are the most reliable, sesitive and promising ones for the detection of irradiated food samples. In this study, linden tea, which is one of the cellulose containing foods, was used within the aim of detection of irradiated food samples. The linden samples was bought from a local market in Ankara. Samples were studied by Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) and Thermoluminescence (TL) tecniques. In this study, only leaves of linden samples were used. Singlet ESR signal was observed from unirradiated linden samples which has spectroscopic splitting factor g=2.0088. After the irradiation, in addiation to the singlet signal, two signal was observed almost 30 mT left (g=2.0267) and right (g=1.9883) sides of the central singlet signal. Microwave power, time, temperature and radiation dose dependence of changes in the spectral parameters was investigated in ESR signals of unirradiated (control) and irradiated samples. Time-dependent changes in signal intensities at room and high temperatures were determined as the sum of two exponentially decay functions. Dose-response curves were obtained for singlet central signal (g=2.0088) and radiation induced left (g=2.0267) ESR signal at different dose values at room temperature. Curve simulation calculations showed that ESR signal intensities depend on irradiation dose with sum of two exponential saturation function between 0-10 kGy dose range. The usability of linden samples were investigated to measure doses of nuclear accidents, industrial and health sectors by using these curves. Inorganic dust samples which are separated from linden leaves after physical and chemical processes were used to investigate linden leaves by TL tecnique. X-ray diffraction experiments showed that these dust samples mainly include ?quartz? and berlinite minerals. TL "glow curves" of unirradiated (control) and irradiated linden samples were investigated using these polymineral dust samples.
