Abstract (EN)
Breast cancer is the most common and fatal cancer among women. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, therapeutic protein and immunotherapy treatments are used in breast cancer. The most important mechanism of action of chemotherapeutic agents used in treatment is apoptosis. 20-25% of breast cancer is associated with the expression of excessive HER2 / neu receptor. Stopping HER2 overexpression and using monoclonal antibodies to prevent tumor formation are among the treatment options. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the HER2 receptor and has anticancer effect. Trastuzumab's anticancer drugs and combination therapy with many anticancer agents have yielded positive results in disease-free and overall survival. Gambogic acid is a xyfon-derived compound purified from Garcinia hanburyi. In vivo and in vitro studies have shown that gambogic acid has an inhibitory effect on tumor growth by inhibiting cell cycle and induction of apoptosis. The aim of this study is to investigate the synergistic toxicity effects of individual and combinations of trastuzumab and gambogic acid on some antioxidants in MDA-MB-453 breast carcinoma cell line with high HER2 / neu expression.
