Abstract (EN)

The concept of ideology has been defined in different ways with the transformations and changes in the historical process. Marxist and Western Marxist thinkers also interpreted this concept in different ways. In line with its determinism in the society, ideology plays an important role in the media content. Although the media is basically a force expected to be neutral, it is a known fact that cultural production cannot be made without independent of ideology and economy The media uses ideology extensively in its contents in order to affect the masses. The ideologies of newspapers are reflected this discourse to the news and it can be aimed to manipulate the society around a certain purpose. In the scope of this research,June 24, 2018 Presidential and General Elections in Turkey and published with different ideological views were subjected to analysis of news related to the selection of the 11 newspapers. Critical discourse analysis was used in the analysis of newspaper news. According to the results of the research, it was understood that most of the newspapers produced discourses parallel to the ideology that they were close to in the construction of the news. Especially in the news of political parties that are thought to be distant from ideological terms, negative discourse was mostly used. On the other hand, it was found that the same news was reported differently in newspapers with different ideological views.
