Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of this study, the analysis of the shoring system designed to ensure the stability of the excavation slopes at the Gazi Secondary School construction site in the Central District of Artvin was made. The studies consist of field, laboratory and analysis studies, respectively. For this purpose, within the scope of the foundation surveys, 5 boreholes were drilled, MASW studies were carried out in 2 profiles and pressiometer tests were performed in 3 boreholes. 3 inclinometer boreholes were drilled for the shoring project works. It has been determined that the Jurassic-Cretaceous aged volcano-sedimentary rocks and Quaternary aged slope debris (ancient landslide material) outcrop in and around the study area. There is a 1,5-3,0 m thick layer of filling material on the slope debris. Excavation will be carried out both in filling material and slope debris. In order to ensure the stability of the excavation area, it has been planned and designed to use Ø: 80 cm diameter anchored (Ø: 0.6″) bored piles and cantilever bored piles. Within the scope of the this study, the shoring system was analyzed according to the finite element method based Plaxis program and as a result of the analyzes, it was determined that the designed shoring system is sufficient to provide excavation stability.
