Abstract (EN)

In this study, types of the metal embroidered handiwork in Vocational Education Faculty of Gazi University Prof. Ülker Muncuk Museum are analyzed with types of metal threads used for handiworks and used embroidery techniques and color, motif and composition characteristics of. Metal embroidered handiworks in Vocational Education Faculty of Gazi University Prof. Ülker Muncuk Museum composes the core of the research. 111 handiworks are used for the research sampling. For the data collection of the research an information form is prepared and used to analyze the embroidered handiworks. The information obtained from the data sheets are tabled into suitable subject subtitles through the research objective and consequently are evaluated and analyzed by using statistical methods.In research findings,1. Most of the metal embroidered handiworks are determined to be bindallıs. Short coat are in the second order of the majority according to usage area.2. The type of metal threads used in embroideries are determined to be mostly klaptan and silver thread with similar values but knotted stitch worked with cut metallic thread with less value.3. It is determined that in the most of the analyzed handiworks, dival technique is used mostly and it is followed by cord fixing couching and wrapping technique. Usage of wrapping technique with another needle techniques is wide.4. For the color of the handiworks it is seen that in the embroideries densely gold color and in the base dark colors are used comparing to light colors.5. As the pattern of the handiworks, mostly botanical based patterns are used. In the handiworks, geometrical patterns, objective patterns as vase, fringe and bow tie and botanical patterms are used together. The designs with symbols and figures are not used widely.6. In the handiworks it is determined that, compositins formed by connected allignments are prefered. These are followed by unrestricted compositions formed according to the shape of the object and compositions formed by regular allignments.Researcher?s suggestions based on the issues in the research conclusion are stated.
