Design of packaging machine with sterilization bags with gauze

This thesis study aimed to design and manufacture a new machine to improve the production potential as well as reduce the cost of packaging process of gauze products which are widely used in health sector. The evolution and alternation of technology brings it compulsory for the health companies to reach the higher level of the sterile environment during the production processes while rapidly responding the demand with reduced cost of production. The products to be produced in the designed machine are the medical consumables, sterilized by the machine itself, to be used in the hospital operating rooms. Packaging material is a exceptional product suitable for sterilization processes. The lack of such a machine in the literature and market research paved the way for the design and manufacture of this machine. While designing the machine in the thesis study, it is taken into consideration the criteria to increase the productivity of the gauze consumables that are widely used in the sector and to provide sterilization for the products according to the standards. During the design of the machine computer supported analysis programs such as Autocad and Solidworks was used and suitable material selections were made. The necessary automation processes were performed on the machine and the machine was manufactured. Packaging of gauze consumables with sterilization bags has been successful in the designed and manufactured machine.
