Pre-Ghazali in sufism the tradition of internal criticism

Sufism is recorded as a living situation science rather than mass science in the discourse of the Sufis, Although the word Sufi , as Qusayri puts, is a name given to those who follow in the footsteps of the Companions of Prophet Muhammed and Tabi'ins, sometimes, It is seen that the discourses and actions that we can describe as opposing the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) are appearence from those who are considered to represent this group. This situation attracted the attention of Sufis as well as the opponents of Sufism and they formed a tradition of internal criticism about the issues that they thought did not fit Sufism. Hijri V, where the basic works of Sufism were written. in the thesis that we have limited to the century, it is noticeable that Sufis took showing a quick reflexive stand against the contrary beliefs and deeds that emerged during the periods that they lived, When the works of the Sufi authors living in the period are examined, it is seen that there are criticisms about their deeds of to act and heart and creed issues. The mistakes that can be seen in Sufis who want to complete their course, those who can fall into excess or understatement while trying to live asceticism, those who are tricked by the devil about positions and states but see their situation as a gift from Allah, These examples that can be given to those who have made mistakes in their hearts and deeds and have been criticized. In addition to this, the criticisms on issues such as seeing Allah (ru'yet), fenâ fi'llâh, and custody at the point of view were even more severe, and the severity of the criticism was brought up to the accusation of blasphemy by the Sufis. While doing all this, the main goal was to ensure that Sufism is lived within the framework of the Qur'an and Sunnah. In particular, they tried to emphasize that people should be vigilant against those who use their religious feelings. It can be said that the tradition of internal criticism, as found in the early Sufi works, should be maintained today, especially in the last period, it has great importance in terms of fighting against structures that abuse the spiritual orientation of people.
