Özet (EN)

In this study, the parameters that are effective on the seal strength of the heat-sealable coated biaxially oriented PET film for food packaging applications were examined and optimization of these parameters was performed using statistical experimental design methods. In seal strength experiments, the effects on jaw temperature, dwell time, and sealing force on the seal strength were investigated and described with mathematical models by using Central Composite Design (CCD) which is one of the Response Surface Methods (RSM). Additionally, optimization and reduced model of these parameters were carried out. Experimental results of the model created for seal strength and the reduced model were compared to the predicted values in the confidence interval at % 95. Due to the experimental results being found to be very close to predicted values, it can be said that CCD is a useful method for parameter modeling in seal strength. In order to examine the effect of the thermal bonding parameters on the seal strength, a total of 5 different heat-sealing jaw temperatures (100°C - 190°C), 5 different pressure values (150N - 600N) and 5 different pressing times (0.5s - 4s) heating operations were performed during the combinations of the processes. Heat seal characteristics of coated sealable BOPET film has been modeled and optimized using systematic set of trials involving changes in key parameters temperature, pressure, and dwell time.
