Abstract (EN)
The metabolic, endocrinological and physiological changes associated with pregnancy affect each organ system to some extent. Most of these changes lead to symptoms in the head and neck region, and disorders that need to be followed and treated by otolaryngologists are common. It is important that the otolaryngologist knows physiological changes related to pregnancy and how these changes occur in the head and neck. Diagnosis and management of these disorders, which occur together with pregnancy or increase severity together with pregnancy, is still complex. Particular attention should be paid to the dangerous side effects that may occur for the mother and the fetus. This study was performed between September 2017 and September 2018 in Düzce University Medical Faculty Otorhinolaryngology Clinic. Newly diagnosed 22 women between the ages of 18 and 40 were referred to us by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The control group consisted of 22 healthy women who were in the fertility period and who were not diagnosed with pregnancy. Ear-nose-throat examinations, pure voice audiometry, tympanometry, nasal mucociliary clearance period were measured and The level of subjective perception of tinnitus measurement = Visual analog scale (VAS), Allergic Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire (RQLQ), the Pregnancy-Unique Quantification of Emesis and Nausea (PUQE) score tests were performed periodically in three trimesters. In the control group, ear nose throat examinations, pure voice audiometry, tympanometry and nasal mucociliary clearance time were measured once. The results obtained from the three trimesters of pregnant women were compared among themselves and control group and first trimester data were compared.
