Abstract (EN)

The development of new formulas using different ultrasonographic measurements in the estimation of fetal weight in low risk pregnant women at the last trimester Purpose: Sonographic evaluation of the fetus and determination of the estimated fetal weight has become a part of routine obstetric practice and assessment of fetal growth and birth management has become one of the main clinical evaluation in course of time. In the the prediction of macrosomia and intrauterine growth retardation, monitoring the fetal growth estimated fetal weight have a great importance. The purpose of this research is developing new formulas using different ultrasonography measurements in low-risk pregnant women at the last trimester of pregnancy. Materials and Methods: We included low-risk pregnant women with a singleton pregnancy who gave birth by elective caesarean section at term in our hospital between 12.09.2013-02.05.2014. A total of 95 women were included in the study. Ultrasonographic measurements on the fetus and measurements performed on the mother were carried out by a single specialist in gynecology and obstetrics in 24 hours before delivery. Measurements performed on the newborn were obtained by a single resident in obstetrics and gynecology in 6 hours after birth. While estimating actual weight after birth, linear regression analysis was performed using independent variables and the model was created. The p value was taken as <0.05 for the level of statistically significance among the results. Findings: The number of cesarean scar, presantation and placental location were not to be statistically significant on estimating the birth weight of the fetus (respectively, p = 0,981, p=0,104, p=0,07). The R2 of Hadlock estimated weight formula found 0,75 and from the obtained models R2 of Model 2 (uBPD, uAC, uFL), Model 4(gTHO_C, gFEM_SKIN, gHC, gHUM_SKIN, gAC) and Model 6 (FUN_PUB, uBPD, uAC, uRA_SURF, uFL, uFEM_SKIN) detected 0,75, 0,76 and 0,88 respectively. Result: Fetal weight estimation could be done with formula using new parameters as well as non ultrasonographic methods. The correlation between these results obtained with this formule and measurements obtained after birth is higher.
