The concept of morality in the theater and model plays from past to present

When we overeview the concept of virtue in the time-lapse of the past and present; it has been observed the invariable principles in eastern and western cultures. But, it can not be ignored that the every age tried to reach a definition on the basis of its own sociological, economic, scientific and cultural elements. Reasoning that give birth to the science, namely philosophy and the works that constitutes its history, were utilized in order to make a definition in the study. The concept of morality is in the sphere of interest of the ethics, which is a philosophical discipline, for this reason it is necessary to explain the morality and the components that constitute it. The first distinction found in the study; ethics and morality are not the same concepts. It is evident that in the time course of time, it has been tried to replace the ethics with morality. Individual and state are the two elements that seek to reach the determinative definition of virtue by moving through the judgments of "Good / Bad" and "True / False" The ultimate goal in the life of the individual is to achieve happiness. And for the harmonious co-existence of the individuals who make up the society, some rules and regulations are needed, written or spoken. The concept of virtue has experienced a fracture at this point and is perceived as a problem. But, it is visible without any blurring; in the good-bad perception shaped by the individual's knowledge there is a freedom that is unyielding against the pressure of any authoritarianism - the state / tradition. For an individual, morality is to secure the justice in every circumstance, avoid of the determinant power of the commodity, ensure the temperance with a sense of responsibility to the others and courageously carry out an action devoted to goodness. And morality is a revolt against social corruption. The theater uses conflict to develop the event sequence. The conflict is a struggle between at least two different value carriers / individuals or at least two different values existing within the individual, and this is the constituent element of dramatic work. Consequently, the art of theater has created the misconception that every work can be associated with morality due to its didactic principle. The model plays in the study showed that each orientation of the theatre to the goodness does not reveal the concept of morality. But it was observed in the history of the theater that some works can make themselves everlasting. The formal characteristics used by any type or movement are not determinative in order to ensure this result in the theatre. The only common point of these texts is that they have reached the concept of morality. The target of the playwright, who has made the text of theatre everlasting, It is not to train the audience. It is a call to the audience through art for co-creation of the continuity of the morality concept reached by self- completion.
