Alternative food sources and food technologies of the future

The importance of the food resources required for people to live is increasing day by day due to insufficient nutrition and food security. All humanity cannot be fed sufficiently because of the uneven distribution of food resources and ecological problems. The fact that a person's body cannot obtain 1800 kcal of energy from the foods he consumes to meet his daily needs shows that he is undernourished. Due to the rapid increase in the world population, the growing need for nutrients and the danger of scarcity, which is of great concern in the future, has directed mankind to exploit unconventional new sources of food and develop existing resources. It can be considered as the main alternatives that, using the products which are not used as food by people as food, evaluating food wastes, producing some microorganisms in abundance and using these biomass as nutrients, food production from cellulose with biofermination technology, protein production from different microbial sources (single cell protein), meat producing in laboratory conditions (in vitro meat), non-farm dairy drinks, insects which are part of the diet in some countries in the world are provided the use of food the by developing improved with new food processing techniques. In this study it is aimed to give information about alternative food sources and technologies.
