Özet (EN)

This study was performed for examination of the effects to upper end of the femur of open reduction with medial adductor approach which is used in treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). After the purpose was determined, general information about DDH was given. Diagnosis and treatment methods tending to appropriate age groups were scrutinized and complications were investigated. Vascular anatomy of upper end of the femur was mentioned. The method of open reduction, which is performed in our clinic was described. Information about avascular necrosis, the most frightened complication likely to develop after treatment of DDH, was given. With open reduction technique which was performed by ourselves, development of upper ends of the femurs of 110 hips of 74 patients who were treated between the years 1980 and 2000 was examined and presented. Development of upper ennds of the femurs of patients who were reducted by open reduction with medial adductor approach was discussed under the light of literature. It was seemed that our results are compatible with literature. It was concluded that reduction is provided with this method in the patients who are in the appropriate age group and this method has palyed a positive role in development of upper end of the femur.
