Özet (EN)

Surface grinding is one of the widely used method for finishing surface cleaning in the industry nowadays. In this method, the grinding process is performed by chip removal process on linear moving workpiece surface with grinding wheel rotating radially around its own axis. In this study, a new mechanism was designed to provide a rotational movement as vertical direction to the radial axis of the wheel in addition to the wheel rotation movement around its own axis as mentioned hereinabove, and the conventional used surface grinding method. Thanks to this mechanism, two rotational movements in two different directions for the wheel were provided. Three different depth of cut values and three different rotation speed values of the new rotational movement were carried out with this advanced system, and five different grinding wheel types were used in the system. The surfaces of workpieces was grinded with all these different combinations, and the effects on surface roughness (Ra) were examined. Consequently, different surface roughness (Ra) obtained according to the feed direction of the (existing) grinding wheel in conventional system was improved, and new surface roughness (Ra) values which can be considered equally in the feed direction of the wheel were obtained. Apart from the low system cost, It can be easily adopted to milling and CNC machines. Besides, the modeling study of the system is presented by examining the generated chip section, and force, power, energy and temperature calculations were made with the model for the new method.
