Abstract (EN)
Besides the progress in the ship building industry, the demand to the ship basic experimentshave been raising. The experimental studies have been conducted for getting realisticinformation to determine the ship resistance and other hydrodynamics characteristicComputational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been used commonly as an alternative and/orpromoting tool in the ship and yacht industriesIn this study, the flow around a ship has been investigated by using CFD. Flow around theship is showed by using free surface method and obtained ship resistance are then comparedwith experimental results. A CFD analysis of a bow thruster and flow around a sail have beencarried out.Based on the solution of the flow around the ship, obtained resistance values are comparedwith experimental result. The comparison is made by using two different turbulance model.Although k ?e and k ?w turbulance models are in good agreement with experimental resultsof viscous pressure resistance, the k ?w model are more consistent with experimental resultsof total resistance
