Abstract (EN)
More than seventy percent of the total value of international trade is met by sea, and the fuel used in the maritime sector accounts for approximately six percent of the fuel consumption in the world. When this situation is taken into consideration, it is a fact that the harmful emission values originating from the fuel burnt are also in a way that cannot be ignored. Considering the legal regulations and obligations introduced for emission and energy efficiency in the maritime sector, it has been inevitable to find constructive solutions to reduce the environmental impacts of ships. Among many studies on this subject, fuel change and blended fuels could result in positive effects. In this context; The study was done to examine the nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbon emission effects that occur after performance and combustion by adding hydrogen to the intake air of a single cylinder, four-stroke, direct injection diesel engine operated with marine type diesel engine in DMA standards used in ships. In the study, by modeling the mentioned diesel engine, not only the addition of hydrogen, but also the new effects that occur when sprayed at different injector conical angles, more than twenty simulations were made and the results obtained were analyzed numerically. Within the scope of the literature, alternative marine fuels considered in the future are mentioned, as well as important issues such as the storage of hydrogen on board and its supply to the ship are mentioned. As a result of the numerical study; It has been observed that adding hydrogen generally increases the combustion efficiency, decreases the specific fuel consumption, gives positive results on unburned hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions, while there is no noticeable difference in carbon dioxide emission values, it has been observed that nitrogen oxide emission values increase.
