Abstract (EN)
The relationship between the athletic performances (strength, speed, endurance and flexibility) cognitive emotional states (hopelessness, anxiety, depression) of young basketball players and the 9 genotypes, which are their genetic markers, were compared with a multiple perspective at the SNP level. A total of 17 athletes from the Galatasaray U15 men's team (14-16 age range), playing in the basketball youth league participated in the research. Performances of young basketball players; CK-MM (rs1803285), IGF-2 (rs3213221), MCT-1 (rs1049434), IL-6 (rs1800795) genotypes, (cognitive status); BDNF (rs6265), 5HTT (rs25531), MAOA (VNTR) and (injury status); GDF-5 (rs143383), IL6R (rs2228145) were compared with genotypes. Binary grouping of genotypes was made in (Independent Samples T-Test), three or more comparisons (One Way ANOVA), and Post-Hoc, Bonferroni and Games-Howell for significance comparisons. Were found that with low body fat percentage associated IL-6 GG genotype (p=0.042), with low BMI associated CK-MM GG (p=0.013), IGF-2 GG (p=0.001), IL-6 GG (p=0.018), in young basketball players. In addition, athletes; CK-MM AG (p=0.045), IL-6, GG (p=0.001) high vertical jump, CK-MM AA (p=0.038) IL-6 CC (p=0.009) with low vertical jump performance, IL -6 CC (p=0.041), MCT-1 AT (p=0.048) lower MaxVO2 performance, IGF-2 GC (p=0.002), MCT-1 AT (p=0.046) genotypes with statistically low blood lactic acid accumulation were found to be related. In the cognitive status comparison of the athletes; BDNF AA homozygous, MAOA Warrior genotypes with high hopelessness and anxiety mood (respectively) [(BDNF AA p=0.045, p=<0.001), (MAOA Warrior p=0.001, p=0.014)], BDNF GG homozygous and G allele and MAOA Normal genotypes low hopelessness and anxiety mood, with (respectively) [(BDNF GG p=0.010, p=0.007), (MAOA Normal (p=0.008, p=0.015)] 5HTT AA homozygous (p=0.037) high GG homozygous (p=0.027) was found to be statistically associated with low depression mood. Injury states and the GDF-5 T allele (in terms of crippling potential) have been confirmed to be the risky allele. This research concerned with molecular predictors of young basketball players has been highlighted a number of potentially important DNA polymorphisms contributing to predisposition to success in certain types of sport.
