One of the potential reasons of the young unemployment: Problem and profession selection

Unemployment is a rapidly growing and chronic problem in the world. It is seen as one of the most important problems not only in developing countries but also in developed countries. Unemployment is a problem which has a serious impacts in the social and psychological sense the most serious destruction being economical. Unemployment, of course, presents a great danger to all section of society, but for some disadvantaged groups, the extent of this danger increases and results can be more severe. It affects the people between the ages of 18-24 especially called the young population. The unemployment rate of this group, which can be called the young unemployed quite high the overall unemployment in Turkey. The search for solutions continues related to youth unemployment in Turkey. In general, not enough alone in the economic growth emerged with studies in with economic growth and development policies to be solved a view to combat Youth Unemployment. Economic growth does not provide an absolute increase in employment means developing policies in many areas foremost education in the fight against young unemployment. In this study, it is tackled train intermediate element and choice of profession that another dimension of youth unemployment and also the problem of employment. The revİew of the structure of youth unemployment and youth unemployment in Turkey; In order to prevent young unemployment and to find solutions to increase the employment of the young population, the problem of intermediate element was mentioned and information was given about the current situation of vocational high schools that are obliged to train intermediate element. The occupational qualifications of the people who were educated in vocational high schools, their position in the labor markets and the employment status were discussed through a field study practiced. In the survey study, questions were asked related to choice of occupation, knowledge about the occupation and continue occupation. As a result of the study, it is concluded that students do not have sufficient knowledge about their chosen profession and they generally choose vocational high school for family difficulty, school score and transition to higher education also generally of students do not continue in their chosen occupation and want to change their occupation in a short time. In this context, it is observed that intermediate element candidates are by choosing their occupation affected by external factors other than the future and career plans in the case of considering the vocational high schools as the first stage of the problem.
