Factors affecting voting behaviours of young electorate: Sample of Gaziantep province

The purpose of this study is to determine the factors affecting the voting behavior of young voters. In order to achieve this purpose required literature search has been done and the studies on literature have been mentioned.In addition, by applying the factors affecting the voting behavior of young voters to young voters in the form of a survey, information on this subject were tried to be obtained. A total of 455 young voters in which 270 women and 185 men participated. According to this study, which was carried out using the quantitative method, it was tried to reveal which factors affect young voters more and what they take into account more when determining their voting behavior. The data that has been obtained in this study has been analyzed by utilizing SPSS 21.00 software program. Because young population is much then there is a very large number of young voters. The fact that young voters have a significant proportion in the total electorate makes them very important in terms of determining the fate of the elections. From this point of view, this makes our study important. With this study, it has been determined that young voters act very carefully, pay attention to details, and attach importance to practical and realistic studies while determining their voting behavior. Young voters act as very good observers by paying attention to these issues without interfering with their free will. For young voters, it is important that the work of governments and the promises of parties focus on areas such as justice, education and foreign policy that concern the entire society. Young voters place a special value on the work done about them by paying attention to the importance of themselves by political parties, candidates and leaders.
